Blend Online

Two artists. One scene. Live.

Edit the same Blender scene with someone else at the same time, over the internet. Send one invite code, then model, shade and animate together, and talk while you do it, without leaving Blender.

Getting started

One invite code. That's it.

Host a session, copy the invite and send it in any chat app. The other person pastes it and joins. There is no server to set up and no port to forward.

The Session tab with the Host a Session button
1. Host a sessionYour current scene is shared.
The People tab with the Copy Invite button
2. Copy the inviteSend it in any chat app.
The Session tab with Join with the copied invite code
3. Paste it and joinThe scene opens as a new scene.

Invite code connections are direct and encrypted, and work through most home and office routers. When both sides are behind a strict (symmetric) NAT, use the included relay server script or a VPN. More in the docs.

Presence

See who works on what

Move, rotate, scale, add, duplicate, delete: everyone sees it right away. You always know where the others are.

  • Each person's selection as a colored box with their name
  • A marker where each person is looking
  • What everyone is doing, in the People tab
  • Transforms update while the other person is still dragging
Modeling

Live Edit Mode

You don't have to leave Edit Mode for the others to see your work. The mesh is shared after every operation.

  • Extrude, scale, subdivide: it shows up on the other side as you go
  • UVs included
  • Sculpt Mode works the same way
  • Two people on one mesh? Both get a clear warning
Nodes

Geometry Nodes and shaders. Both ways.

Whole node trees stay in sync, not just their results. Change a value on your side and the other person's viewport follows.

Geometry NodesAlex grows and twists the tower. Sam's tower follows.
ShadersSam changes the Color Ramp. Alex sees it right away.
What stays in sync

Your whole scene, live

Objects

Add, delete, duplicate, rename, parent, hide, move between collections. Meshes, curves, text, empties, lights, cameras.

Meshes

Geometry and UVs, live even inside Edit Mode and Sculpt Mode.

Curves and text

Bezier, NURBS, poly and text objects with their settings.

Materials

Whole node trees, color ramps and shader node groups.

Textures

Image files travel with the scene, in the background, so large ones don't hold up your edits.

World and render

World nodes, render engine, resolution, frame range, color management and samples.

Modifiers

Every modifier type, with settings and Geometry Nodes inputs.

Constraints and collections

Constraint settings and targets, nested collections and their flags.

Animation

Keyframes, interpolation, F-Curve modifiers and timeline markers. See everyone's current frame on the timeline.

Voice chat

Talk while you build

Voice chat is built in. No third app, no extra call. Green rings and level bars show who is talking.

  • Your microphone opens only when you click Join Voice Chat
  • Talk when you speak, or use push to talk (Mouse Button 4)
  • Mute yourself, turn voices off, or mute one person
  • Works next to the scene sync without slowing it down

Voice chat runs on Windows and Linux. It is not available on macOS, because Blender has no microphone permission there.

Working together

Talk, point, follow

Text chatRight next to the work. Object names in messages are links that select and frame the object.
Draw, note, mark, pingDrawings and notes stay on the scene until removed. Ping a spot with Ctrl+Alt+P.
Follow any viewJump to someone's view once, or follow their view and timeline frame.
The host's controls

You decide who does what

Viewers and editors

Viewers can look, chat, talk and mark, but they can't change the scene. Change anyone's role at any time.

Ask before letting in

Turn it on and each person waits until you let them in. Remove people from the session when you need to.

Your other scenes stay yours

The shared scene opens as a new scene in your file. Your other scenes are not changed.
